Piping Work Process

Piping installation

  • Checks the code for the materials of pipes and valves (approved P & ID).
  • Checks the ISO drawings.
  • Checks the hook-ups and insulation kits on the drawing.
  • Checks the quality of welding (piping and wall penetrations).

  • Checks the valve tag plates.
  • Checks for the existence and degree of deformation after the Installation of pipes.
  • Checks the soundness of installations before a pressure test of pipelines (including supports).

Valve installation

Valve installation and nitrogen gas leakage tests
  • Before installing the valve on a testbed, the valve is closed, and a leak test is performed using N₂ gas of 5 bar to measure the leak rate (Bubbles/min.) at the outlet of the valve.
  • International standards and codes for valve testing (ASTM, ASME B16.5, B16.9, B31.3, API 598 etc.)
  • If the volume of leakage is beyond the acceptance criteria, a repair job is performed after negotiating with the valve vendor.
